ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Chairman Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Syed Qamar Raza has strongly denied claims by the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) that he was appointed by Field Marshal Asim Munir as a special representative to negotiate with the organisation.
In a statement, Qamar Raza dismissed the claim as false propaganda, saying the Field Marshal neither asked him to contact the banned Action Committee nor had any involvement in such negotiations.
His statement came in response to an announcement issued by JAAC today, which claimed it had sent a detailed letter to the Field Marshal on July 13 regarding the prevailing situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to JAAC, the letter was received on July 14, after which the Field Marshal allegedly appointed Qamar Raza, Chairman of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, as his special representative to engage with the committee.
“However, all the peaceful protests already underway will continue. We request our proud people, women, children, and elders to keep the protests peaceful and peaceful,” the statement concluded.
