KARACHI (Kashmir English): Rumors about the potential engagement and marriage of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have emerged, with unverified reports suggesting a link to the European nation of Liechtenstein.
According to the media, President Asif Ali Zardari has traveled to Liechtenstein with family members, possibly to discuss his son’s wedding date.
Reports also suggest that Bilawal’s supposed fiancée belongs to Vaduz, which is in Liechtenstein, and his wedding may take place later this year.
However, according to the Pakistan Peoples Party, these rumors are untrue. The Mayor of Karachi and the spokesperson for the PPP, Murtaza Wahab, has stated that reports regarding the engagement and marriage of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are “false and baseless.”
Bilawal or his family has not made an official statement about his engagement or wedding till now. Hence, claims about a connection with Liechtenstein remain unverified, while the PPP has denied the reports.
Who is Bilawal Bhutto?
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari (born 21 September 1988) is a Pakistani politician who served as the 37th Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2022 to 2023. He became the chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party in 2007 following his mother’s assassination.
Born in Karachi, Sindh, Bilawal maternally belongs to the Bhutto family and paternally to the Zardari family; he is the son of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and President Asif Ali Zardari, and the grandson of former President Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
Bilawal Zardari was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 2018 to 2023. He was re-elected as a Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan in the 2024 Pakistani general election from the newly formed constituency NA-194 Larkana-I, taking the oath in 2024.
