ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) on Saturday said that uninterrupted power supply is being provided to more than 4.2 million consumers across its six operation circles during the day, while load management is limited to only the evening when electricity demand increases.
In a statement, IESCO said it is not currently carrying out any load management anywhere in its service region during the day, and is supplying electricity according to demand whenever the required power quota is available from the National Grid.
It added that load management is initiated when electricity demand increases in the evening. However, load management does not exceed 2 to 2.5 hours within 24 hours on any feeder.
IESCO said load management is immediately discontinued once the required electricity quota is received from the National Grid.
The company said the load on the power system has increased due to the operation of hubs and a rise in electricity consumption, resulting in an increase in feeder faults and transformer-related complaints.
IESCO clarified that temporary power outages caused by feeder faults or transformer complaints should not be considered load management, adding that its operations staff has been fully mobilised to resolve consumer complaints in a timely manner.
IESCO urged consumers to avoid unnecessary electricity consumption during peak hours.
