LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has installed the state-of-the-art True Man 3 bowling machine at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), becoming the first cricket board in the world to introduce the advanced training technology.
The modern bowling machine is designed to provide batters with match-like practice by simulating real bowling actions. Its high-contrast LED front screen displays an animation of the bowler, enabling players to better understand the bowler’s action, release point and timing before facing the delivery.
The machine can be programmed to adjust line, length, speed, swing and delivery height. Coaches can also save individual deliveries, overs and spells, allowing players to recreate match scenarios during training sessions.
Director High Performance Aqib Javed said True Man 3 represents the latest advancement in cricket training technology. He noted that Pakistan is the first cricket board to adopt the machine, adding that traditional bowling machines do not allow batters to properly judge the bowler’s release point.
He said the new system enables players to improve their preparation by watching the bowler’s action before the ball is delivered, helping them train in conditions much closer to an actual match.
Pakistan white-ball captain Salman Ali Agha welcomed the addition, saying the technology will play a key role in improving batters’ skills.
He said the machine delivers the ball with a realistic bowling action, forcing batters to maintain match-like timing, and expressed confidence that players will benefit significantly from the technology in the future.
