ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Meteorological Department has issued an alert predicting strong winds, thunderstorms, and light rain in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and other districts of the country.
According to media reports, currently most parts of the country are experiencing extreme heat and humidity, which is causing great concern to the citizens; however, now, after the new forecast made by the Meteorological Department, there is a strong expectation of a decrease in temperature and pleasant weather.
The Meteorological Department says that the weather in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan is likely to be partly cloudy, with thunder and strong winds at a few places.
Moreover, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert of heavy rains in different parts of the country from July 6 to July 10.
According to the NDMA spokesperson, a weather system is entering northern Pakistan, due to which there is a strong possibility of rain in the upper parts of the country.
According to the NDMA’s assessment of the weather situation, heavy rains are expected in Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad from July 7 to 10.
In addition, thundershowers have also been predicted in the Potohar region and areas of northeastern Punjab.
