LONDON (Kashmir English): Pakistan women’s football team player Maryam Mahmood has been included on the International Honors Board of English football club Wrexham AFC after representing Pakistan at the international level.
Wrexham AFC honored Maryam by adding her name to the club’s International Honors Board, making her the first player from Wrexham Women to receive the distinction.
The name of Pakistan men’s team player Umar Nawaz is also featured on the club’s International Honors Board.
Maryam Proud of Recognition
Speaking about the achievement, Maryam Mahmood said she was extremely happy and proud to see her name on the International Honors Board.
She described representing Pakistan at the international level as an incredible journey, saying it was a special feeling to see her name alongside the legends of the club.
Maryam said she could not put into words how she felt about representing Pakistan. She described her international debut and the strong support from fans as an incredible experience.
The footballer also recalled playing three matches for Pakistan in Ivory Coast, calling the experience memorable.
Maryam Mahmood said one of her personal goals is to have a positive influence on the younger generation.
She said she did not have any female role models to look up to while growing up and expressed happiness that she can now serve as an inspiration for young girls who want to pursue football.
Her recognition on Wrexham AFC’s International Honors Board marks another milestone in her career and highlights the growing presence of Pakistani women in international football.
