DUBAI (Kashmir English): After the defeat in the first Test against England, the national team has also slipped below the West Indies in the World Test Championship points table and has reached the last position with 19.05 points.
The defeat by England is concerning for Pakistan because the team was already at the bottom of the World Test Championship and its position has worsened after the failure against England.
The two teams will now compete in the second Test of the series at the historic ground of Lord’s from August 27. Pakistan will have to show significant improvement in both batting and bowling to return to the series.
It should be noted that England defeated Pakistan by an innings and 103 runs on the third day of the Headingley Test to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Pakistan suffer another unwanted Test record after Headingley defeat
Pakistan’s defeat in the first Test against England at Headingley has added another unwanted record to their recent Test history, with the team registering its sixth-lowest Test total in England since 2000.
Pakistan were dismissed for just 135 in their second innings, completing a disappointing batting performance after being bowled out for 171 in the first.
The 135-run total is now among Pakistan’s lowest scores in England since the turn of the century. Their five lowest totals during this period came at some of England’s most famous Test grounds.
