ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): A fake notification claiming the appointment of Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Dr Usman Anwar as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been circulating on social media.
As per the sources, the notification is fabricated, and no official announcement regarding Dr Usman Anwar’s appointment as the IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been issued.
“With the approval of the Federal Government, Dr. Usman Anwar, a BS-21 Officer of Police Service of Pakistan, presently serving in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), under the Interior Division, is transferred and posted as Provincial Police Officer (PPO). Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973, with immediate effect and until further orders,” the fake notification stated.
Dr Usman Anwar, a Grade-21 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, is currently serving as the Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). He previously served as the Inspector General of Punjab Police.
Government sources urged citizens to verify such claims through official government sources before sharing them on social media.
