BAGH (Kashmir English): In a significant development, the Anjuman Tajran Arja in Bagh district has announced its dissociation from the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) and decided to reopen markets in the area.

In a video message, Anjuman Tajran Arja Secretary General Nasir Arbab said the decision was taken after consultation with the elected body of the traders’ association. He announced that all shops in Arja would reopen, adding that the town has more than 700 commercial outlets.

Nasir Arbab urged traders across Azad Jammu and Kashmir, particularly those in Arja, to resume business activities and distance themselves from the banned Public Action Committee. He said the traders’ association decided to sever ties with the committee due to what he described as its “extremist behavior.”

He also appealed to the Bagh district administration to ensure security and provide protection to traders as commercial activities resume in Arja.

Earlier, the proscribed Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) seems to be in a state of severe frustration due to public disinterest in the Rawalakot sit-in.

Following the clear failure of the sit-in, extremist elements have now resorted to taking the law into their own hands and spreading chaos.

Ringleader Khawaja Mehran and his associates are using cheap tactics to disturb the peaceful environment of Rawalakot, AJK.

Kidnapped personnel were heading to Rawalakot

Extremists of the proscribed Action Committee have kidnapped four personnel of the Azad Kashmir Police while they were heading to Rawalakot for duty from their homes, according to reports.

The kidnapped personnel are Selection Grade Constable Shahid Shafiq, Selection Grade Constable Muhammad Sagheer, Constable Muhammad Ishtiaq, and Constable Zeeshan Ishaq.

The personnel are still in the custody of the extremist elements of the proscribed Action Committee.

Previously, these extremist elements also kidnapped a Police ASI and subjected him to the worst torture, while this same group had also attacked the CMH.

According to observers, due to these criminal activities of the proscribed Awami Action Committee, their own party members and the public of Azad Kashmir have completely rejected them.

After their nefarious intentions were revealed, the public has completely rejected this movement operating on external dictates, experts said.
