ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Meteorological Department has predicted wind, thunderstorms, and heavy rain in different parts of the country during the next 12 to 24 hours.
The NDMA has also issued an alert regarding the rains. The NDMA has issued an alert of strong winds, thunderstorms, and hail in some places in most parts of the country during the next 12 to 24 hours.
NDMA has expressed the possibility of rain in different parts of Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and Sindh, while it has predicted hail in some places.
The Meteorological Department has predicted wind, thunderstorms, and rain in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and has directed citizens to exercise caution.
According to the Meteorological Department, thundershowers are expected in Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, and Charsadda in the evening hours, while wind and thunderstorms are expected in Shangla, Kalam, Swat, Dir, Chitral, and Buner.
Heavy rain is expected in Kohistan, Malakand, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Balakot, and Haripur, while thundershowers are expected in Bajaur, Mohmand, Orakzai, and Khyber.
Wind and rain are predicted in Kohat, Kurram, Hangu, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Parachinar, and Waziristan.
The Meteorological Department has warned that hailstorms may also occur along with heavy rain at some places in the upper districts of the province. Pattan recorded 8 mm of rainfall and Parachinar 7 mm in the last 24 hours.
The NDMA has warned that due to continuous rains and rising temperatures, glaciers may melt rapidly, increasing the risk of lake bursting, flash floods, and landslides.
