ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The reports regarding the government’s assurance to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of a meeting with party founder Imran Khan are false, sources said.
Several media outlets claimed that the government and opposition delegations have reportedly reached an agreement ahead of PTI’s planned October 4 Islamabad long march.
It was further claimed that the government has agreed to a meeting of Allama Nasir Abbas and Mahmood Achakzai with jailed Imran Khan.
However, government sources rejected reports aired by a private television channel that the government had agreed to facilitate a meeting between the PTI leadership and Imran Khan, describing the reports as baseless.
They said the government had neither agreed to the proposed meeting nor indicated a willingness to arrange it, despite the PTI’s insistence on meeting its incarcerated founder.
