MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): As of May 11, 2025, significant casualties and damage across multiple districts of Azad Kashmir have been recorded of the Indian aggression after Indian forces violated the ceasefire, again during the darkness of night.

The severe incident of ceasefire breach by the Indian forces last night, in areas near the Loc, has resulted in substantial human and material losses across several districts, according to the latest situation report.

Tragically, 31 innocent people have lost their lives, with Kotli having 11, Poonch having 6, and Bhimber also having 6 casualties, being the hardest-hit areas on the list.

Additionally, 123 individuals have been injured, with Kotli having 31, Poonch having 27, and Bhimber having 22 injury reports, making it the highest number.

The disaster caused extensive damage to infrastructure, with 287 houses affected. Out of these 287 houses, 34 were fully destroyed, and 253 were partially damaged.

Poonch suffered the most severe housing damage, with 109 houses partially ruined, followed by Jhelum Valley, having 67 partially damaged, and Neelum Valley, where 10 houses were fully damaged and 37 homes were partially damaged.

Commercial losses included 21 shops being damaged, primarily in Neelum Valley, where 20 shops got damaged, while 22 cattle perished. In Bhimber, 11 cattle and in Poonch, 8 cattle were killed.

Kotli recorded the highest number of casualties, where 11 died and 31 were injured, but limited property damage took place in Kotli. Structural destruction was very high in Poonch, with six deaths and 27 injuries reported.

Both commercial establishments and residential properties sustained severe damage in Neelum Valley. Mirpur and Sudhuoti escaped the disaster with no damages recorded in the areas.

Immediate emergency relief is necessary, especially in the hardest-hit areas of the Indian aggression. Rescue operations, medical assistance, and the rehabilitation of destructions are fundamental priorities of the authorities to guarantee that the affected families are attended to and the basic services are restored.

Summarising the final toll after the Indian aggression: There were 31 deaths, 123 injuries, and 387 structures damaged. The tally also adds 22 livestock that died during the disaster.
