ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Punjab Information Minister has defended Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif against allegations that she used public funds during her recent London visit.
In a statement, the minister said Maryam Nawaz had decided before leaving for London that she would personally bear all expenses of the trip.
She said criticism over the chief minister allegedly “pocketing dollars” was launched before the visit had even concluded, without verifying the facts.
The minister explained that government expenses are calculated after official visits and payments are made through established legal procedures and official challans.
She accused political opponents and social media commentators of spreading propaganda and said those who had previously faced allegations of misusing public funds should refrain from making such accusations.
The minister further warned his critics to “prepare themselves once again to face embarrassment and humiliation,” saying the facts would soon become clear.
