MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): A Rangers personnel, Sepoy Asif Hussain, who was critically injured during a clearance operation on Tarar Khul Road in Azad Kashmir, embraced martyrdom on September 10 while undergoing treatment at CMH Rawalpindi.

According to the details, law enforcement personnel were carrying out a clearance operation to reopen roads that had been blocked amid severe transportation difficulties and shortages of essential food supplies.

The operation was reportedly conducted following strong demands from residents to restore access and ensure the movement of people and supplies.

During the operation, armed rioters allegedly opened fire on law enforcement personnel from sniper positions. Sepoy Asif Hussain sustained serious injuries in the firing and was immediately shifted to CMH for treatment on September 4.

Security experts have described the use of modern weapons and explosives against security personnel as a serious security threat, saying such attacks indicate a planned attempt to undermine the writ of the state.

Experts said the sacrifices of security forces demonstrate the importance of maintaining the writ of the state and protecting public institutions under all circumstances. They called for immediate, strict and indiscriminate legal action against armed groups involved in attacks on state institutions.
