POONCH (Kashmir English): A tragic incident occurred in the Abbaspur sector of the ceasefire line in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), where two brothers fell victim to an Indian landmine.
As per details, a 47-year-old Arif Aziz lost his life in the explosion, while his brother Sabir Aziz suffered severe injuries, including the loss of a leg.
The seriously injured Sabir Aziz is being shifted to the hospital for medical treatment, the local administration said.
The landmine explosion occurred in the jurisdiction of the Abbaspur Police Station in Poonch, adjacent to the ceasefire line.
Earlier today, a Bomb Disposal Squad disposed of a live artillery shell fired by the Indian forces in Sharda, Neelum district.
Upon receiving the information about a suspected bomb on the banks of the river Neelum, the bomb disposal team, under the command of Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf, sprang into action.
The team promptly reached the location to assess the type of bomb, after which they diffused it, saving hundreds of people from a disastrous incident.
