RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): A miscreant associated with the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) was killed in an exchange of fire with security personnel at Rai Chowk in Rawalakot on Tuesday afternoon, security officials said.
The incident took place when a man identified as Faizan, a resident of Chak Damni, Rawalakot, allegedly opened fire on Rangers personnel while crossing a security checkpoint at Rai Chowk.
According to the sources, Faizan was carrying a 30-bore pistol and opened fire on the Rangers after being stopped at the checkpoint.
Security personnel returned fire, killing the man during the exchange.
