ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan’s security forces killed 29 terrorists during a series of intelligence-based operations and precision strikes conducted along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border following recent terrorist attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and on a Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) camp in Karachi, according to Information Minister Atta Tarar.

According to official sources, a well-planned intelligence-based ground operation was carried out on June 28 in Bajaur district near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

During the operation, security forces engaged a group of terrorists. They killed four militants, including a high-value commander identified as Khan Farosh alias Zabal, who was affiliated with Jamaat-ul-Ahrar. Several other terrorists were reportedly injured during the operation.

In continuation of Operation Ghazb Lil Haq, security forces also carried out precision strikes during the night of June 28 and 29 against terrorist camps and hideouts linked to Jamaat-ul-Ahrar and Fitna al Khawarij.

According to the statement, three terrorist targets located in the border regions of Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar were successfully destroyed.

The strikes reportedly killed 25 terrorists and destroyed large quantities of weapons and ammunition stored at the targeted facilities.

These operations were carried out based on verified intelligence reports, and their main objective was the removal of safe havens of terrorists, which serve as grounds for planning and executing attacks on Pakistan.

These operations further confirmed the country’s stance that Pakistan is fully committed to peace and stability in the region but would never compromise on the security of its people.

The authorities also stressed that the country would maintain its full-fledged anti-terrorism drive under the slogan of “Azm-e-Istehkam” which has been approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.”
