ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Yadgar-e-Fatah monument in Islamabad has been inaugurated, commemorating Marka-e-Haq, in Islamabad on Thursday night as part of the grand celebrations of the 80th Independence Day.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Field Marshal Asim Munir inaugurated Yadgar-e-Fatah on the eve of the country’s Independence Day.
Chairman Senate, Speaker National Assembly, Federal Ministers, Service Chiefs, and other senior civil and military officials attended the ceremony.
A large contingent of personnel from the military marched past along with paramilitary forces and police, presenting a guard of honour.
Police personnel from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan, as well as Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, FC KP, and Balochistan, Punjab, and Sindh Rangers were part of the contingent.
The monument features five archways, which represent the five pillars of Islam, as well as the five pillars of Pakistan itself, includes the government, the military, the media, the people, and the ideology underpinning the nation.
