ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced that the tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 10) will resume on May 17, following a brief pause caused by recent hostilities with India.

In a message posted on social media, Naqvi welcomed the return of the league with enthusiasm, stating: “HBL PSL X picks up from where it left off! 6 teams, 0 fear Let the aura take over as we unite and celebrate the spirit of cricket. Get ready for 8 thrilling matches starting 17th May, leading up to the Grand Final on 25th May.

The remaining fixtures include eight thrilling matches, with the grand final set to be held on May 25.

The league’s restart was made possible by the recent ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India, which eased regional tensions and created a safer environment for sports events to continue. Security and logistical arrangements are being finalised to ensure a smooth and secure tournament.

All six franchises will return to action, and Naqvi extended his good wishes to the players and management of every team: “Best of luck to all the teams!”

PSL 10 was suspended last week after an Indian military attack resulted in the deaths of 51 Pakistanis, including 40 civilians and 11 members of the armed forces. The temporary suspension was a mark of respect and caution amid the conflict.

With peace gradually returning, the PSL 10’s comeback is expected to boost national morale and bring joy to cricket fans across the country.

This peace is a tribute to the armed forces of Pakistan who have sacrificed a lot. The Pakistan Army on Tuesday shared official details of martyrs and injured; the soldiers and civilians who lost their lives or were injured during recent clashes with India, which are now being referred to as Marka-e-Haq, a term used to describe what the government calls a key defensive response.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), 11 military personnel were martyred and 78 were injured during Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, which was carried out in reply to Indian attacks on May 6 and 7.

Among the martyrs were six Pakistan Army soldiers and five Pakistan Air Force personnel. The army named the following soldiers who gave their lives in the line of duty: Naik Abdul Rehman, Naik Waqar Khalid, Lance Naik Dilawar Khan, Ikramullah, Sepoy Adeel Akbar, and Sepoy Nisar.

The Air Force also suffered losses, with Squadron Leader Usman Yousuf, Chief Technician Aurangzeb, Senior Technician Najeeb, Senior Technician Mubashir, and Corporal Technician Farooq confirmed as martyrs.
