MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission has announced re-polling at 23 polling stations in LA-15 Bagh-II and LA-16 Bagh-III constituencies on August 15.
According to the Election Commission spokesperson, the decision was taken in light of reports submitted by the respective returning officers. Re-polling will be held on August 15, from 8 am to 5 pm at the designated polling stations, he said.
The electoral body said that results from 204 out of 213 polling stations had been received by the returning officer in LA-15 Bagh-II, adding that re-polling has been ordered at 9 polling stations.
“The designated polling stations include 114, 135, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147, 148, and 186,” it stated.
Moreover, the statement added that the results of 172 polling stations out of 186 were received by the returning officer of the constituency LA-16 Bagh-III.
The spokesperson stated that 14 polling stations listed for re-polling are 28, 29, 40, 49, 50, 51, 77, 91, 109, 110, 111, 112, 143, and 149.
In LA-16, the unofficial and preliminary result of 172 of 186 polling stations shows PML-N candidate Sardar Mir Akbar Khan was leading with 18,950 votes, while PPP’s Sardar Qamar-uz-Zaman is trailing behind with 15,750 votes.
