RIYADH (Kashmir English): The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) launches a completely digital procedure for Iqama loss reports. Saudi Arabia now offers fully digitized processing for reporting a lost Iqama; an employer can carry out the process online without visiting government offices through the Muqeem portal itself.
The new service has been brought out by the General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) as part of the ongoing digitization initiatives spearheaded by the Ministry of Interior to bring administrative processes within the scope of ease for millions of the migrant workforce in the country.
Before this step, reporting about the Iqama lost would demand several trips to government institutions; however, a person can now submit the loss reports online, reducing the work and time spent.
Jawazat stated that employers can now report a loss of Iqama through the portal by logging into the Muqeem portal and, on the applicant’s dashboard, entering the Iqama number that got lost, and later clicking on the Jawazat Services tab, then going ahead by selecting to Report Loss of Expats Iqama.
The system will go for processing once submitted; it said that it shall share status updates via Muqeem. This move marks a further step towards making the lives easier for employers of the migrants; on the part of workers, they can now be sure of reporting such documents even if they were taken possession of by the employers of migrants, and can also inform the administration remotely about it.
This is also part of the country’s overall Vision 2030, which aims to digitalize government procedures for residents, business organizations, and employers in KSA, and during current years has transformed numerous residency, visa, passport related documents into online mediums to reduce the need for physical visits.
Jawazat further informed about managing employment-related services with migrants through the Muqeem, and for citizens & residents (HOH), the respective usage ofAbsher; for personal management of their dependent members.
