RIYADH (Kasmir English): The Saudi Cabinet, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, welcomed the ceasefire agreement and the peace efforts between Pakistan and India during its recent meeting.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Dr Issam bin Saad bin Saeed, Minister of State and Acting Minister of Media, stated that the Cabinet members discussed regional and international developments.

Earlier, the Saudi Foreign Ministry issued a statement welcoming the US-mediated ceasefire and peace efforts between Pakistan and India, expressing hope that it would pave the way for stability and security in the region.

The Foreign Ministry commended both countries for demonstrating wisdom and restraint and reiterated its support for resolving conflicts through dialogue and peaceful means.

The statement emphasized the importance of adhering to principles of good neighbourliness, which would promote peace and prosperity for both nations and their people.

It is worth recalling that Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held separate phone calls with Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Indian Foreign Minister Dr S. Jaishankar to discuss de-escalation efforts, preventing further clashes, and ending ongoing military tensions.

Additionally, Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir arrived in Islamabad on a one-day visit, meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. PM Shehbaz thanked Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and US President Donald Trump for their role in facilitating the ceasefire and peace efforts between Pakistan and India.

Pakistan Armed Forces have announced the successful completion of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, launched in response to Indian attacks in May 2025. The operation began on May 10 and aimed to uphold justice after civilian casualties. In a heartfelt statement, the military honoured the bravery and sacrifice of its personnel and paid tribute to the families of martyrs who gave their lives for the nation.
