KAHUTA (Kashmir English): Prime Minister of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, has laid the foundation stone of Mehmood Gali-Kahuta Dual Carriageway during his visit to Haveli district on Saturday.
Under this project, a double carriageway road will be constructed from Mehmood Gali to Forward Kahuta, which will improve travel facilities in the area and provide ease of transportation to the people.
During the first phase, a 16-kilometer double carriageway will be constructed at a cost of more than Rs 615 million under the improvement, upgradation, and reconditioning project of the current Mehmood Gali-Kahuta road.
The completion of the project will not only reduce traffic problems but will also promote tourism, trade, and economic activities, the statement issued by the government’s Press Information Department (PID) said.
Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony, the premier said that the people’s government of the PPP is taking vigorous steps to provide basic facilities to the people at their doorsteps.
The upgradation of Mehmood Gali-Kahuta road will play an important role in the development of the area, business activities, and the promotion of tourism, while also providing safe and quality travel facilities to the public.
Lasdna-Shero Dhara road
Moreover, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of the 10-kilometer-long Lasdna-Shero Dhara road project.
A large number of political and social figures and local citizens were also present on the occasion.
The completion of the project will improve transportation facilities in the area, while the people of remote areas will be relieved of travel difficulties, he said.
Earlier, upon his arrival at Mehmood Gali, a large number of PPP workers and citizens welcomed the Prime Minister. Public representatives, political and social figures, were also present on the occasion in large numbers.
Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore thanked the people and said that the government is taking vigorous steps for public service and the development and progress of the region. In the short period of the government of the PPP, development and progress can be seen in every area, he added.
