SYLHET (Kashmir English): Bangladesh was bowled out for 278 runs on the first day of the second Test match of the two-match series against Pakistan (Pak vs Ban) in Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first, after which the fast bowlers put up a good performance and kept the hosts under pressure from the start.

Liton Das was the top scorer for Bangladesh with 126 runs, while Tanzeed Hasan scored 26, Najmul Hasan Shanto scored 29, Mominul Haque scored 22, and Mushfiqur Rahim scored 23 runs.

Mohammad Abbas got the team off to a great start by taking a wicket in the first over, while they also secured their second win on a total of 44.

Later, Khurram Shahzad took the third wicket for 63 runs. By the end of the first session, Bangladesh had scored 101 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.

Mahmudul Hasan was dismissed without scoring a run, while Tanzeed Hossain scored 26 runs and Mominul Haque scored 25 runs.

In the second session too, the Pakistani bowlers continued their measured bowling and did not let the Bangladeshi batters stay at the crease for long. By the tea break, the hosts’ score was 168 runs for 6 wickets.

In the third and final session, the remaining wickets of Bangladesh also fell, and the entire team was bowled out for 278 runs in 77 overs.

For Pakistan, Khurram Shahzad took 4 wickets, Mohammad Abbas sent 3 wickets to the pavilion, while Hasan Ali took 2, and Sajid Khan took one wicket.

The Pakistani squad includes captain Shan Masood, Azan Owais, Babar Azam, Abdullah Fazal, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Agha, Khurram Shahzad, Sajid Khan, Hassan Ali, and Mohammad Abbas.
