KARACHI (Kashmir English): A local court in Karachi has granted the physical remand of drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky, also known as the ‘Cocaine Queen’, till May 22 and handed him over to the police.
Baghdadi police presented the accused in court and requested remand for further investigation in the murder case.
During the hearing, the investigating officer told the court that the accused’s network extends not only to Karachi but also to Punjab, while she also has links with Nigerian criminals.
According to the police, a list of about 800 people was found on the accused’s mobile phone. The investigating officer claimed that Anmol had established a regular brand of drug trafficking and law enforcement agencies had been looking for her for a long time.
According to him, more drugs have been recovered on the accused’s identification, while 11 more cases have also been registered against her.
The officer also told the court that the accused originally belongs to Lahore, but her identity card still has a Karachi address.
The accused had been running this network for the past 15 years and to avoid arrest, and she also married a DSP in Punjab. According to the police, the accused had married three times in total, but her entry is not in the NADRA record.
During the hearing, the court questioned the investigation regarding the murder case and inquired about the identity of the deceased.
The investigating officer said that the body could not be identified yet, however, a box of the alleged brand of drugs of the accused was found in the possession of the deceased, which led the investigation to the accused.
During the conversation in the court, the accused Anmol alias Pinky rejected the police allegations and claimed that she was detained from Lahore 20 to 22 days ago and kept blindfolded at an unknown location.
She said that she was later instructed to open the door with a smile during the raid. The accused alleged that the police pressured her to give the names of specific people and threatened to harm her family if she refused.
The accused’s lawyer also accused the police of violating court orders, saying that despite the end of the remand, the accused was not produced in time.
According to the lawyer, the murder case was registered in April, while the accused was in Lahore at that time. He took the stand that it is not difficult to prepare such boxes of drugs to which the police are referring.
However, the judge rejected the lawyer’s objections and ruled that the accused was produced in court on the appointed date, so the question of defying the court order does not arise.
Two other accused, Zeeshan and Sohail, were also produced in the court in the same case. Both of them declared themselves to be brothers and the owners of the Easy Paisa shop.
According to the investigating officer, illegal transactions worth crores of rupees were made through his shop for the accused’s network, while another accused Qamar is still absconding.
After the parties completed their arguments, the court reserved the verdict, after which the City Court granted the physical remand of Anmol alias Pinky till May 22 and handed him over to the SIU police. However, the verdict regarding the other 12 cases is still reserved.
