Pakistan face 8-point penalty and 40% fine over slow over-rate

The Pakistan cricket team has been fined by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for a slow over-rate in the first Test match against Bangladesh.

According to the International Cricket Council, the Pakistan team could not complete its overs in the stipulated time and was 8 overs behind the target.

Due to this, the team was also deducted 8 points from the ICC World Test Championship. According to the rules, one point is deducted for each additional over.

In the first Test played in Mirpur, Dhaka, the Pakistan team’s over-rate remained below the prescribed standard, on which the ICC completed the above disciplinary action.
