MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): After the first two phases of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly general elections 2026 were successfully, transparently, and peacefully completed, the Election Commission has finalized the preparations for the third and final phase.
On August 10, polling will be held in all three districts of Poonch division on a single day, while the movement of ballot boxes and other election materials to the respective districts has started regularly.
According to the Election Commission, foolproof security arrangements have been made at all sensitive and highly sensitive polling stations. There is complete coordination between law enforcement agencies, district administration and election staff to make the election process transparent, fair and peaceful in every respect.
Govt Officers to Cast Vote in August 09
As per the schedule, government employees will exercise their franchise on August 8 and 9, while on August 10, ordinary voters will cast their votes to elect their representatives in three districts of Poonch division.
The Election Commission has completed the training of election staff, timely delivery of equipment to polling stations, and other arrangements. The Chief Election Commissioner and his entire team are continuously active to supervise the third phase.
The excellent arrangements, transparent electoral process and effective supervision during the first two phases were appreciated by the public, social and various circles, while citizens have expressed the hope that the last phase will also be completed with the same discipline, transparency and peace and order.
Political and social circles say that the successful conduct of the first two phases has further strengthened public confidence in the administrative capabilities of the Election Commission, while the foolproof arrangements made for the third phase reflect that all institutions are effectively performing their responsibilities to make the democratic process in Azad Kashmir a success at all costs.
The people have expressed their expectation that voters will exercise their right to vote in a full-fledged manner on August 10 and the last phase of the electoral process in Azad Kashmir will also be completed in a successful, transparent and peaceful environment, further strengthening a strong democratic tradition.
