ISLAMABAD: A formal complaint has been submitted to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), seeking an investigation into alleged tax evasion, concealment of income and suspicious financial transactions involving JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s family members and close associates.
The complaint names five individuals, including Senator Kamran Murtaza, Lutf-ur-Rehman, Zia-ur-Rehman, Asad Mahmood and Abrar Ahmed Khan, and calls for a detailed examination of their assets, bank accounts and sources of income.
According to the complaint, the FBR has been requested to investigate multiple local and foreign currency bank accounts allegedly held by Senator Kamran Murtaza and examine the banking transactions and business activities of Lutf-ur-Rehman.
The complainant has also sought an inquiry into allegedly unexplained funds in Zia-ur-Rehman’s bank accounts and requested scrutiny of Asad Mahmood’s financial records to determine whether any tax violations have occurred.
Similarly, the complaint calls for an examination of Abrar Ahmed Khan’s bank accounts, travel and tours business, and related financial activities.
The application further seeks an investigation into financial transactions involving various welfare, educational and business organisations.
The complainant has urged the FBR to conduct a comparative analysis of the named individuals’ assets, tax returns and banking transactions to identify any discrepancies or undisclosed income.
The FBR has been asked to conduct an impartial investigation and take appropriate legal action if any violations are established.
The allegations contained in the complaint have not been independently established, and the filing of the complaint does not establish wrongdoing by any of the individuals named.
