RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): Security forces have launched an operation in Rawalakot against armed groups, resulting in the clearance of the city’s bus terminal and the dispersal of a sit-in, according to official sources.
The operation was carried out this morning to disperse protesters occupying the bus terminal. Although it was initially planned to last 25 minutes, security forces completed the operation in just 15 minutes.
Following the operation, the bus terminal was cleared of protesters and brought under the control of security forces.
Meanwhile, action is underway against armed groups reportedly present in the Darek area of Rawalakot. Security has also been tightened at all entry points to the city to prevent any untoward incidents.
Officials said stringent security measures have been implemented as the operation continues.
