QUETTA (Kashmir English): Security forces carried out an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) in the Shahbaan area of Quetta on the night of May 14, 2026, during which 33 terrorists belonging to the banned Fitna al-Khawarij group were killed.

Officials said the operation was launched following credible intelligence reports and was conducted to eliminate terrorist hideouts in the area.

Security forces stated that the clearance and search operation is still ongoing, while efforts are being made to trace any remaining militants and facilitators linked to the group.

Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to continuing counterterrorism operations to maintain peace and stability in the region.

At least nine Khawarij were killed and critically injured in a joint intelligence-based operation by police and security forces in Jani Khel, Bannu, security sources said on Thursday.

According to the security sources, security forces conducted an operation in the Shad Khan Kala area of ​​Jani Khel on the reported presence of Indian-sponsored terrorists and effectively targeted their hideout.

During the operation, 9 Khawarij were killed while one Kharaj was seriously injured, sources said.

Security sources said the Khawarij who were killed were also involved in the terrorist attack on Fateh Khel Police Station a few days ago, and their search was ongoing.

A clearance operation is underway in the area, and the search for more facilitators and escaped Khawarij is still ongoing, sources added.

“Khawarij and their facilitators are being selectively killed under Operation Azm-e-Ustaq and the National Action Plan,” it said.
