ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan’s commercial banks will extend their working hours until 10:00 PM today, Wednesday, September 30, 2026, to facilitate taxpayers in making over-the-counter payments of government duties and taxes before the deadline.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) issued the directive following a request from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). Under the instructions, banks will facilitate taxpayers through extended branch hours and make special clearing arrangements for government transactions to ensure payments are processed without delays.
Banks have also been directed to ensure uninterrupted digital payment services, allowing taxpayers to use internet banking, mobile applications, ATMs and other online channels to pay their dues.
Taxpayers can therefore complete their government payments either by visiting bank branches before the extended closing time or by using available digital banking facilities.
The extended banking hours are aimed at providing taxpayers with additional time to meet their payment obligations on the final day of the deadline.
