HAVELI: The residents of Haveli district in Azad Kashmir continue to suffer due to poor network connectivity and lack of basic communication facilities, as the area remains largely dependent on the unstable and inefficient Special Communications Organization (SCO) service.
Despite repeated protests and complaints, the network and internet services in Haveli often remain suspended for hours or even days, severely affecting education, business, online work, and government operations.
Citizens expressed frustration, questioning why Haveli remains deprived of the same facilities when major telecom companies have been allowed to operate in districts like Hijira and Abbaspur.
“We feel deliberately left behind, even in today’s modern era; basic communication facilities are still a dream for us,” said one resident.
The delay is being attributed to a lack of infrastructure, mountainous terrain, and governmental negligence. However, locals reject these excuses, arguing that if telecom services can function in other hilly regions of Azad Kashmir, there is no reason Haveli should be excluded.
Citizens have urged the Azad Kashmir government and the federal Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication to allow other network providers to operate in Haveli so residents can access the same level of service as the rest of the state.
