ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has issued a forecast regarding the new moon of Rabi-ul-Thani 1448 AH.
SUPARCO has announced that the birth of the new moon for Rabi-ul-Thani 1448 AH is expected today at 08:27 (Pakistan Standard Time).
At sunset on September 12, 2026, the age of the new moon will be approximately 34 hours and 33 minutes, while the time difference between sunset and moonset along Pakistan’s coastline will be approximately 39 minutes.
Based on these astronomical calculations, the Rabi-ul-Thani moon may be visible to the naked eye in coastal areas on the evening of September 12, 2026 (weather permitting), whereas in the rest of the country, it would be visible via telescope.
Therefore, there is a strong probability that the 1st of Rabi-ul-Thani 1448 AH will fall on Sunday, September 13, 2026, marking the conclusion of the blessed month of Rabi-ul-Awwal.
The final decision regarding the sighting of the Rabi-ul-Thani moon and the commencement of the new Islamic month will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Pakistan.
