LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allocated a budget of Rs 1.1 billion for the monthly salaries and match fees of players, the Express News reported.
In addition, the Board sanctioned an increase of Rs 1 billion in the domestic cricket budget, raising it from Rs 3 billion to Rs 4 billion.
Under the revised central contract structure, 45 players will be awarded contracts across five categories. Players in Category AB (Test and ODI) will receive Rs 1.5 million per Test, Rs 750,000 per ODI, and Rs 500,000 per T20I.
Category A (Test) players will receive Rs 1.5 million for Tests, Rs 650,000 for ODIs, and Rs 450,000 for T20Is. Category BC (ODI and T20) players will earn Rs 900,000 for Tests, Rs 750,000 for ODIs, and Rs 500,000 for T20Is, while Category C (T20I) players will receive Rs 700,000 for Tests and Rs 550,000 each for ODIs and T20Is.
At present, the PCB has 30 centrally contracted players, who receive Rs1,257,795 per Test, Rs644,620 per ODI, and Rs418,584 per T20I.
The men’s domestic central contract structure remains unchanged, with 175 players to receive contracts in four categories. Category One players will receive Rs350,000 per month, Category Two Rs250,000, Category Three Rs150,000, and Category Four Rs140,000.
Domestic match fees
Earlier on June 29, the PCB’s Board of Governors meeting approved an increase in match fees for the domestic cricket players, along with the new Central Contracts framework and payment mechanism.
Players participating in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy will now receive Rs100,000 per match, up from Rs30,000, while reserve players will receive Rs50,000 instead of Rs15,000.
Category A players will now receive Rs600,000 per month instead of Rs450,000, Category B Rs500,000 instead of Rs375,000, Category C Rs300,000 instead of Rs225,000, Category D Rs200,000 instead of Rs150,000, and Category E Rs150,000 instead of Rs100,000.
The Board further approved the organisation of Women’s One-Day and T20 tournaments and allocated Rs 70.57 million and Rs 59.13 million, respectively, for their conduct.
There has been no change in the women’s domestic central contracts. Players in the Gold category will continue to receive Rs55,000 per month, while Silver category players will receive Rs40,000.
The PCB has also increased women’s international match fees. ODI match fees have been raised to Rs150,000, while T20I match fees have increased from Rs60,000 to Rs100,000. For the Under-19 women’s team, ODI fees have been increased to Rs80,000 and T20 fees to Rs40,000.
