ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Google has announced that Pakistani students will be able to get free Gemini access for a year. This will allow them to leverage artificial intelligence technology for their education, research, and other academic needs.
The announcement took place on the occasion of the inauguration of Google’s new office in Pakistan. The initiative is intended to provide greater access to AI technologies and help students find new ways to make use of their digital tools for studies.
Pakistani students will be able to use artificial intelligence benefits in terms of research, studying, writing, and learning. Apart from this, such a plan will allow students to improve their digital skills and meet the growing need for artificial intelligence in their education process.
This announcement has marked a significant step towards increasing Google’s presence in Pakistan. As AI technology is gradually entering classrooms and workplaces around the globe, the increase in accessibility of such tools can create new learning and research opportunities for students.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formally inaugurated Google’s office in Islamabad, calling it a major milestone in the country’s digital transformation and its partnership with the global technology company.
Google’s Vice President Wilson White, US Chargé d’ Affaires Natalie Baker, and other dignitaries jointly unveiled a plaque to mark the inauguration of the Google Office.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister also interacted with a nine-member delegation of Google, led by Wilson White, which called on him in Islamabad today.
Welcoming the delegation, the Prime Minister said Pakistan is undergoing a major digital transformation of governance, including the digitization of the economy.
He shared the government’s vision of “Digital Nation Pakistan” and informed the delegation that several initiatives to develop the national digital ecosystem are at an advanced stage of implementation.
Sharif reiterated the government’s commitment to upgrading IT infrastructure and briefed the delegation on ongoing programs for training youth in IT and Artificial Intelligence.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration with a global technology leader like Google in achieving these objectives.
The Prime Minister welcomed Google’s decision to open an office in Pakistan, noting that it would further strengthen the country’s partnership with the company.
