ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The government in Pakistan has lifted the temporary lowering of speed limits on motorways and national highways, bringing back the original speed limit regulations applicable to different types of vehicles, according to an official spokesman.

Under the revised arrangement, the speed limit for cars and light transport vehicles (LTVs) on motorways has been restored to 120 kilometers per hour.

Likewise, the speed limit for PSVs and HTVs on motorways has been restored to its original value of 110 kilometers per hour. It has also been reported that the speed limit on national highways has been restored to its original values for cars, LTVs, PSVs, and HTVs.

This measure of temporary lowering of speed limit was initiated because of some special operational and safety conditions, but now the original speed limits have been restored.

The Motorway Police have advised drivers to abide by traffic rules and take safety measures even after the restoration of speed limits.

It is emphasized that compliance with lane discipline and weather safety tips is important for accident prevention on highways and motorways.
