Erdogan to Meet Saudi Crown Prince, PM Shehbaz in Jeddah

ANKARA (Kashmir English): Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Saudi Arabia on a one-day visit today (Friday), where he will meet Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Turkey’s Director of Communications Burhanuddin Duran said in a statement on social media that President Erdogan will meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif during his visit.

The statement did not release further details of the agenda of the meetings, but it is expected that the leaders will discuss bilateral relations, the regional situation and issues of common interest.

Media sources say that a trilateral security cooperation agreement is likely to be signed between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkiye today, which will prove to be a major breakthrough.

It should be noted that Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has already arrived in Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Upon arrival in Jeddah, the Prime Minister and the Pakistani delegation were warmly welcomed by Prince Saud bin Mashal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah, Saudi Minister of Agriculture, Water and Environment Engineer Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq and senior diplomatic officials.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud during his visit to Saudi Arabia.

The meeting will discuss the long-standing brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, further strengthening the partnership and the situation in the region, as well as matters of mutual interest.
