MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): In a significant political development in the Muzaffarabad city constituency, dozens of office-bearers and workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have announced their departure from the party and formally joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), marking a major boost for PPP Muzaffarabad.
The joining ceremony was led by Sardar Mukhtar Ahmed Khan and City President and Deputy Mayor Khalid Awan. On this occasion, both leaders welcomed Syed Umair Shah and his associates into the party, calling it a positive sign and a reflection of growing public trust in the PPP Muzaffarabad chapter.
Speaking to the media, Khalid Awan highlighted that youth are the true strength of any political party, and PPP highly values their inclusion. He asserted that the party would not let down the people of Muzaffarabad and that those who once predicted PPP’s downfall in the region must now witness its re-emergence as an unbeatable political force.
He further stated that the future of Azad Kashmir belongs to the Pakistan Peoples Party, and under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the youth will play a central role in leading the region forward. Muzaffarabad city, he added, has once again become the political fortress of the PPP after a long gap, despite past conspiracies aimed at weakening the party.
Sardar Mukhtar Ahmed Khan spoke at the event to emphasise the critical need for national unity during Pakistan’s difficult period. According to him, the present moment requires all citizens to show unlimited backing for Pakistan and its defence forces.
“There is no politics without the country and no country without its armed forces,” he stated. “We are proud of our army, and the way the Army Chief represented the issue of Kashmir and the people of the occupied valley on the international stage is unparalleled.”
He emphasised that PPP Muzaffarabad is now in the hands of sincere and capable workers who are fully aligned with the policies of party leaders including Chairperson Faryal Talpur and Chaudhry Riaz.
