MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Traders in Muzaffarabad have disassociated themselves from the proscribed Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee’s (JAAC) call for a shutdown on July 22, 2026.
In a video message, Acting Chairman Markazi Anjuman-i-Tajran Muzaffarabad Division, Gohar Kashmiri, said that they will not support the JAAC’s call, adding that all markets and shops in the division will remain open.
As per details, all stakeholders from the traders’ associations mutually agreed to distance themselves from JAAC’s lockdown call during a meeting held today.
Among those present were Madina Market President Ibrar Mustafa, Gojra President Chaudhry Shahid Mumtaz, Madina Market Vice President Ali Abbas, Madina Market General Secretary Khawaja Aqeel, Anjuman Tajran General Secretary Mansoor Alam Qureshi, and other traders.
Gohar Kashmiri urged traders across the city to keep their businesses operational and not keep an eye on these kinds of calls being circulated on social media, adding that the traders have reached a unanimous decision not to support the JAAC’s strike call.
