ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The government has initiated a special PM fuel relief scheme to work across the country.
According to the scheme, users can get petrol at the price of Rs. 100 per litre, and the scheme is applicable even if the consumers buy less than 5 litres of petrol.
In such cases, petrol users will be able to claim a discount of Rs. 500 weekly through the token. The government will give one token on a weekly basis and four tokens on a monthly basis.
At the same time, anyone having a vehicle with an engine size of up to 800cc can take advantage of this scheme too. They will get a petrol price reduction of Rs. 100 per litre on 10 litres of petrol after every ten days.
The government will issue three tokens for 10 litres of petrol every month to the eligible vehicle owners. The scheme is basically aimed at giving direct aid to the eligible gasoline users in the country.
Eligibility Criteria
According to the latest revisions to the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme, the following consumers are eligible:
- Motorcycle owners can receive fuel relief under the scheme.
- Qingqi and rickshaw owners are also eligible.
- Motorcycles, Qingqis and rickshaws registered on or after January 1, 2006 are eligible.
- The earlier minimum five-litre purchase requirement has been removed for two- and three-wheelers.
- Eligible two- and three-wheeler users receive four Rs500 relief tokens per month.
- Each token can now be used to purchase petrol in any quantity, following the latest revision.
- Owners of vehicles up to 800cc remain eligible for the scheme.
- For 800cc vehicles, the relief remains Rs100 per litre on 10 litres every 10 days, with three tokens per month.
- The scheme is restricted to non-commercial users, with relief limited to one vehicle per user/owner.
- Registration is available through SMS to 9771, and the government has now made scheme-related SMS messages free.
