BHIMBER (Kashmir English): Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan, on Thursday inaugurated the newly established Civil Court and Additional Tehsil Criminal Court in Bhimber.
Senior Judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Raza Ali Khan, Chief Justice of the High Court, Justice Sardar Liaquat Shaheen, and High Court Judge Justice Khalid Rashid Chaudhry were also present.
The dignitaries jointly inaugurated the new court and also observed the first case hearing of the judicial proceedings after the establishment of the facility.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan said that the rule of law and provision of justice to the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir will remain the judiciary’s top priority.
He emphasized that all judicial officers and lawyers must work with commitment to ensure swift and fair justice for the public.
“The provision of justice and fairness will always continue to play a role in the rule of law,” CJ Saeed said. All judicial staff and lawyers should work hard and provide justice to the people through this court, he added.
Upon arrival, the Chief Justice and other esteemed judges received a grand welcome with court staff showering flowers and a police contingent presenting a salute
The inauguration ceremony was attended by District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Idrees Bhatti, Deputy Commissioner Chaudhry Haq Nawaz, SP Khawaja Abdul Qayyum, President Bar Chaudhry Manzoor Advocate, Senior Lawyer Raja Mazhar Iqbal, President Bar Barnala Ijaz Jaral, and President Bar Samahni Chaudhry Munirullah Advocate, among others.
Prominent judicial officials, including Custodian Chaudhry Khalid Yousuf, Additional Sessions Judge/Family Judge Zafar Mahmood Mughal, Senior Civil Judge Raja Sanwar Kamali, Additional District Qazi Karamat Hussain Nizami, Civil Judge Sardar Rizwan, and Senior Tehsil Qazi Zaheer Abbas, were also present at the ceremony.
