CJ AJK High Court confers Family Court powers on Civil Judge Sharda

NEELUM (Kashmir English): Chief Justice Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) High Court Justice Sardar Liaquat Shaheen has conferred Family Court powers on Civil Judge Sharda.

The new body of Tehsil Bar Association Sharda took oath in a dignified ceremony held under the chairmanship of Chief Justice of Azad Kashmir High Court, Justice Sardar Liaquat Hussain, who administered the oath to the newly-elected office bearers.

A large number of dignitaries from the area, including representatives of the judiciary, administration, police, various departments, and civil society, attended the ceremony.

Sharda Bar Association

The newly elected body included Abdul Samad Awan Advocate as President, Malik Iftikhar Advocate Secretary General, Javed Iqbal Advocate Vice President, Naeem Khan Changezi Joint Secretary, Muhammad Siddique Chughtai Advocate Finance Secretary, Anwar-ul-Haq Advocate Information Secretary, and Ishtiaq Hussain Advocate as Library Secretary.

On this occasion, Syed Shahid Bahar District Judge, Syed Waseem Gilani District and Sessions Judge, Sardar Shahzaman District Qazi, Abdul Shakoor Mehravi Civil Judge Sharda, Sardar Qadeer Hussain Tehsil Qazi Sharda, Syed Aqeel Kazmi Deputy Commissioner Neelum, SP District Neelum, Assistant Commissioner Sharda, among others were also present.

Chief Justice Azad Kashmir High Court Justice Sardar Liaquat Hussain congratulated the newly-elected office-bearers and urged them to play an active role in resolving the problems of the legal fraternity, ensuring justice, and upholding the rule of law.

He said that the Bar Association is an important pillar of the judiciary, and without its active role, the judicial system cannot be strengthened.

Family Court Sharda

During the ceremony, the Chief Justice made an important announcement, approving the conferment of Family Court powers on Civil Judge Sharda, which the participants termed as a welcome step for the people of Neelum region.

Newly-elected President Abdul Samad Awan Advocate and other office-bearers expressed their determination to utilize all their energies for the unity, welfare of lawyers, and improvement of the judicial system.
