MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, the Zakat and Ushr Department of Azad Kashmir, under the orders of Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, transferred Rs 98.391 crore to the personal accounts of deserving Zakat recipients across the region.
As per the vision of Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, the Zakat and Ushr Department provided funds to the extremely poor, destitute, and needy people of the state through local Zakat and Ushr committees in 10 districts of Azad Kashmir in proportion to the population during the financial year 2024-25.
The amount provided was Rs 17.631 crore to Muzaffarabad district, Rs 17.445 crore to Tali district and Rs 13.68 crore to Poonch district.

86 lakh 64 thousand rupees have been distributed in Mirpur district, 85 lakh 68 thousand in Bhimber district, 92 lakh 31 thousand rupees in Neelum district, 79 lakh 20 thousand in Jhelum Valley, 74 lakh 25 thousand in Bagh.
65 lakh 85 thousand rupees have been provided in Sidhnoti, 45 lakh 54 thousand rupees in Haveli.
Zakat is being provided to the deserving people in Neelum’s Union Council Kel-o-Grayz and Haveli’s Union Council Bhedi through (S-Paisa).
The deserving people have been instructed to withdraw the money from their accounts.
