Zakat fund approves Rs56.6 million for medical treatment of deserving patients

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): On the instructions of Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, the Zakat Profit Fund has approved Rs. 56,59,951 for the treatment of 15 patients outside Azad Kashmir/Pakistan.

The Azad Kashmir government is providing complete facilities for the treatment of the very poor, needy, and destitute people of the state outside Azad Kashmir through the Zakat and Usher Department.

Additionally, Rs. 26,26,000 has been approved for 10 deserving and needy patients of Azad Kashmir, including 5 cases of heart disease and Rs. 30,33,591 for 5 cancer patients.

Earlier, Rs. 28,58,440 has been released for the treatment of 38 deserving and needy patients across Azad Kashmir through the Zakat and Usher Department.

Chief Administrator Chaudhry Muhammad Razaq said that if a poor and needy person cannot get treatment in Azad Kashmir, he should contact the district offices of Zakat or the desks established in the district hospitals for treatment in any government hospital in Pakistan, so that his treatment can be ensured.
