ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The federal government has started the process to export imported sugar, according to media reports.
The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has issued a tender for the export of imported sugar. Bidding has been invited for the export of 107,739 metric tons of sugar.
According to the tender document, TCP has sought electronic bids by September 28, and the received bids will be opened on September 28 itself.
According to the documents, manual bids will not be accepted.
Sources say that the federal government imported more than 300,000 metric tons of sugar last year, and Pakistan spent about Rs 50 billion on sugar imports.
