KARACHI (Kashmir English): Saudi Arabia’s low-cost airline FlyDeal has launched direct flights between Karachi and Medina, further strengthening air connectivity between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The airline, affiliated with the Saudia Group, inaugurated the new route on Sunday with its first flight from Medina to Karachi. Under the new service, FlyDeal will operate two flights per week between the two cities.
The route will be served by Airbus A320neo aircraft configured with 186 economy-class seats. The aircraft are equipped with modern passenger amenities, including USB-A and USB-C charging ports at every seat, large overhead storage bins and mood lighting.
Medina is the second Saudi city, after Riyadh, to be directly connected with Karachi through FlyDeal’s international network.
With the launch of the new route, FlyDeal’s Pakistan network has expanded to seven routes, offering passengers more travel options between Karachi and Saudi Arabia.
The new service is expected to particularly benefit passengers travelling for Umrah, religious visits and other purposes, while further strengthening people-to-people and air-travel links between the two countries.
FlyDeal described the new route as an important step in expanding air connectivity between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
