TEHRAN (Kashmir English): Iran has submitted its response to the United States proposal aimed at ending the war via Pakistan, Iranian state media reported on Sunday.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), under the proposed plan, the current phase of negotiations will primarily focus on ending the war.
Tehran has formally presented to mediator Pakistan its response to the latest US proposal aimed at ending the ongoing conflict in the region.
According to IRNA, which cited a source familiar with the matter, the current phase of negotiations was focused exclusively on the cessation of hostilities in the region.
Iran’s foreign ministry
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson had previously stated that the Islamic Republic’s views and considerations regarding the US proposal would be transmitted once internal reviews and final conclusions were completed.
Meanwhile, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei issued new directives to the concerned on strengthening the readiness and operational posture of Iran’s Armed Forces.
He also emphasised continued preparedness and response against potential threats, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency.
It said Commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Major General Ali Abdollahi, met with Khamenei and presented a report regarding the readiness of the country’s Armed Forces.
This includes the Army, IRGC, and Law Enforcement Forces, along with security and border guard forces, the Ministry of Defence, and the Basij volunteer forces.
The Tasnim report quoted Abdollahi as having said that all Iranian forces remained at a high level of preparedness in terms of combat morale, defensive and offensive readiness, and strategic planning.
