BANNU (Kashmir English): Four terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation conducted by security forces in the Sardi Khel area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district, security sources said on Friday.

As per the sources, security personnel, acting on intelligence, stopped a vehicle allegedly loaded with weapons and ammunition.

According to sources, the terrorists in the vehicle opened fire when security forces attempted to stop them. Security personnel responded, leading to an exchange of fire.

During the operation, the vehicle exploded and was destroyed. As a result, four suspected terrorists were killed.

In another development, the security sources said that troops carried out an intelligence-based operation in Mastung district of Balochistan, killing five terrorists and foiling a terror plot and recovering a large cache of weapons, explosives, and military equipment.

According to security sources, the operation was launched in Killi Padda, north of Mastung, after actionable intelligence indicated the presence of militants allegedly preparing for a high-profile attack in the area.

During the operation, security personnel cordoned off the area, including an unoccupied house complex, and conducted surveillance. An explosion occurred inside one of the buildings during the operation, sources said.
