MUSCAT (Kashmir English): Oil prices rose in the global market after a projectile attack on a cargo ship off the southeastern coast of Oman.

The British Maritime Agency reported that the ship was attacked 7.5 nautical miles from Oman. The attack by an unknown projectile damaged the front of the ship.

After this attack, oil prices in the global market increased by more than 2 percent. According to reports, the price of Brent crude oil closed at $ 75.26 per barrel after increasing by $ 1.52, or 2.1 percent, while WTI crude oil rose by $ 1.58, or 2.3 percent, to $ 71.92 per barrel.

According to the news agency, crude oil prices closed at their lowest level since February 27, which was the day before the start of the war.

It should be noted that efforts to evacuate ships from the vital Strait of Hormuz waterway were temporarily halted after an unidentified projectile hit a cargo ship near Oman, rekindling concerns about global oil shipments.
