Pakistan Army athletes lead the medal race at National Games

KARACHI (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Army is leading the medal tally in the ongoing 35th National Games in Karachi as athletes vie for the medals.

Competitions are underway at various venues in Karachi as part of the 35th National Games, where the battle for medals among athletes from different departments and provinces has entered in an interesting phase.

In the 35th National Games, the Pakistan Army is close to a half-century of gold medals. The total number of gold medals for the Pakistan Army has reached 46. Army athletes have also secured 15 silver and 11 bronze medals.

WAPDA has so far won 14 gold, 8 silver, and 11 bronze medals, while Navy has secured 7 gold and Pakistan Air Force has won 4 gold medals.

In fencing, Uzma Sultan from Hunza won another gold medal for HEC. In the final, Uzma defeated Barira from Balochistan 15-14.

In men’s fencing, Abdul Musawwir of HEC won the second gold medal of the event. After individual epee, Abdul Musawwir also secured a gold medal in individual foil.

In the shooting event, the Army’s gold medal count has reached 10, while the Pakistan Navy has won 6 gold medals in shooting.

Pakistan Air Force is in third place in shooting with 2 silver and 3 bronze medals.

In 10-meter air rifle women’s, Mehr Khaliq of Army won gold, Anbar Dilawar of Navy won silver, and Sara Saleem of Navy won bronze.

In the team event, Army won gold, Navy won silver, and HEC won bronze. In 50-meter pistol men’s, Shahrukh Khan of Pakistan Navy won gold with a score of 547.

In the 50-meter pistol team event, Army won gold, Navy won silver, and Pakistan Air Force won bronze.

On the other hand, the Army men’s rugby team won the gold medal. In the final, they defeated WAPDA.

WAPDA won the gold medal in the women’s event, defeating Punjab in the final.

The Army’s dominance continues in the Taekwondo event, where it has won gold medals in all 22 categories so far. Army athletes are also excelling in Karate, where they have secured 5 gold medals.

In the men’s team event of gymnastics, WAPDA won the gold medal. In the volleyball event, Pakistan Army and WAPDA won more matches, while the Pakistan Navy team was victorious in the men’s category.

In football, Pakistan Army reached semi-finals

In football, Pakistan Army, Navy, and Pakistan Air Force teams reached the semi-finals. In handball competitions, Pakistan WAPDA and Pakistan Army won their matches.

The final lineup for the National Games squash competitions has been completed.

In the men’s team event, Army and WAPDA reached the final. In the women’s event, Army and KP secured their spots in the final.

In the women’s semi-finals, Army defeated Balochistan and KP defeated Punjab. In the men’s semi-finals, Army defeated Air Force and WAPDA defeated Punjab.

In the athletics event, decisions for 12 more gold medals will be made on Tuesday (today).
